When I installed my tablet and tried to use it in Corel Painter 2021, my pen does not move at all.  How do I fix this?

Corel Painter 2021 uses WinTab technology with the Xencelabs tablet. By default, Windows 10 wants to use Windows Ink. This conflict is what is stopping our pen from working within Corel Painter.

The fix is easy. You will need to open your Xencelabs Setting application and then add Corel Painter 2021 to the Application row. Once you have done that, you can then remove the check for it to use Windows 10.

The instruction below will walk you through the process of doing that. Once complete, close and then start Corel Painter, and you will be up and running.

1. You will want to start and then minimize Corel Painter 2021. This will allow you to select it from a list within the Xencelabs Setting application.

2. Open the Setting application by pressing the Top Center, left button.

[1] Then select Pen Tablet from the left navigation menu.

[2] Click on the "+" button in the upper right corner.

[3] Find the Painter icon in the group of application icons listed, select it.

[4] Press Next

[1] Press Add

[1] Select the Painter icon in the top Application row

[2] un-check the box for using Windows Ink

And you are set. Close and open Corel Painter 2021 and your Pen Tablet will work perfectly within this application now.

As a side note: you may find other applications that utilize WinTab as you start to use your Pen and Tablet.

If you do, please follow these same steps to add that application to the Application row and then remove the check for Windows Ink.
